Bio

Amal Moussa is a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, where she leads the Single Stocks Exotic Derivatives Trading team in New York. In addition to her role in markets, she serves as an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University, teaching graduate courses on volatility modeling and trading in both the Mathematics of Finance and Financial Engineering master’s programs.

Amal holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from Columbia University, awarded with distinction. Her research has had a notable impact on the field of finance, and has been widely cited by prominent figures such as former Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen and Nobel laureate Joseph Stiglitz. She is also a recipient of the Minghui Yu Teaching Award at Columbia.

Before her Ph.D., Amal completed a Master’s in Mathematical Finance from Sorbonne Université (formerly Paris VI) and earned a Grande École engineering degree from Télécom Paris.

She serves on the advisory board of the Center for Artificial Intelligence in Business Analytics and Financial Technology at Columbia University. Amal is also an active member of the Women in Trading network at Goldman Sachs and is deeply committed to mentoring students and professionals across the financial industry.
