Yahui Huang
Yahui Anita Huang holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Texas at Austin.
Originally from Taipei, Taiwan, she has lived, studied, and worked across Asia, the United
States, and Europe. She has more than a decade of experience developing language and cultural
programs, teaching Chinese, linguistics, and cross-cultural communication, and working as an
interpreter and translator.
Her research and translation work focus on pragmatics, politeness theory, intercultural
communication, and Chinese philosophy. Her projects include studies of Chinese politeness and
pragmatic competence, translations of classical Chinese texts, contributions to the forthcoming
volume Intercultural Zhu Xi, and a new translation of the Yijing (Book of Changes). She has a
longstanding interest in helping people from different backgrounds and traditions communicate
more effectively and develop a deeper understanding of one another.
