Millend Roy is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at Columbia University, advised by Prof. Agostino Capponi. He completed his M.S. in Operations Research at Columbia in 2024 and holds a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from IIT - Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad (ISM -2021). His research lies at the intersection of energy systems, financial engineering, and algorithmic decision-making, with a focus on capacity market design and demand response models. Prior to his Ph.D., Millend was a Research Fellow (2021 - 2023) at Microsoft Research India, contributing to scalable decision-making frameworks for sustainable energy applications.
