My research focuses on data acquisition as a first-class design problem. I study how to collect, structure, and interpret data in a way that leads to better decisions, with an emphasis on adaptive, resource-constrained environments. Methodologically, my work draws on sequential decisionmaking —including multi-armed bandits, active learning, and online optimization—but goes beyond them by formalizing new models where estimators are constrained, and objectives reflect global estimation quality rather than simple regret. Applications include problems such as assortment optimization, mean estimation, and adaptive experimentation on large-scale platforms.
