Gerard A Neumann

Jerry is the Managing Director of Neu Venture Capital, an early-stage venture capital fund in New York City. Previously he cofounded Root Markets Inc. and managed Omnicom Group’s venture capital division. He writes about startup management, the history of venture capital, and early-stage venture investing.

Jerry’s investment focus is on commercializing leading-edge technologies, primarily in the data, financial, and education sectors. He has invested in more than 80 startups, who have collectively created more than $100 billion in market value.

Jerry received a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from the Columbia School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and a MBA from NYU. He has guest-lectured on venture capital and entrepreneurship at NYU, the University of Chicago, and Case Western.
