Daniel Bienstock's research focuses on methodological and computational optimization, with special focus on nonconvex and integer programming, and on the application of optimization to the operation of (electrical) power systems. He became an INFORMS Fellow in 2013 and received the 2022 Khachiyan Optimization Prize.
