Ryan McNellis is a fourth-year PhD student in the Industrial Engineering and Operations Research department at Columbia University. Previously, he received his B.S.E. degree from Princeton in 2015, majoring in Operations Research and Financial Engineering and obtaining a certificate in Statistics and Machine Learning.

Ryan's doctoral research focuses on developing efficient, broadly-applicable methods for training statistical and machine-learning models for operational decisions. Explored applications include demand modeling for inventory optimization, ad-spot auction modeling for bid optimization, and consumer modeling for delivering personalized recommendations of products and services.

Ryan's expected graduation date is September 2019.
