Sumedh Gundlur Ramachandra
Sumedh currently works as an Associate at Deloitte’s Financial Advisory Services, where he applies analytical techniques to detect fraud. Previously, he has worked for the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations as an Advisor, where he dealt with issues such as price volatility and economic growth. In the past, Sumedh has worked for Navigant Consulting, Vale Columbia Center on Sustainable International Investment, a start-up in the energy and environment domain and the financial services arm of India’s first MNC.
Sumedh really enjoyed his time at Columbia and loved the courses on decision modeling and operations consulting. During the fall of 2011, he worked for the Economic Research & Statistics Division of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Switzerland, while simultaneously enrolling for classes, which he feels was possible due to the flexibility of his master’s program in operations research and the support of the IEOR department. He was also the Co-Organizer of the first TEDx event held at Columbia University.
Sumedh has represented Columbia at various international forums including the UNCTAD Energy Pact Conference in Geneva, Switzerland and the Clinton Global Initiative University (CGIU) in San Diego.
Sumedh holds a bachelor’s in economics and electronics & instrumentation engineering from BITS-Pilani in India.
