The graduate programs in the Industrial
Engineering and Operations Research
Department at Columbia University provides
training in the fields of
Engineering Management
Systems,
Industrial Engineering
and Operations
Research. The programs are designed for
students who wish to obtain positions in a
variety of sectors and firms including
financial, banking, consulting,
manufacturing, logistics, technology, etc.
You take courses, taught by our renowned
faculty and industry practitioners, in
stochastic processes, optimization,
simulation, quantitative techniques,
financial engineering, logistics, supply
chain, and much more. In addition to the
resources at the IEOR Department, you have
an opportunity to take courses throughout
the University including the
Graduate School of
Business,
School of International
and Public Affairs, and
Graduate School of Law.
Our Department also hosts a series of
professional and academic seminars including
the popular
Financial
Engineering Practitioners Seminar on
Monday nights, at which Wall Street and
industry practitioners present their recent
research or particular specialty, and where
students can hear first-hand about life in
the financial world. Our Department also
invites practitioners in various disciplines
and prospective employers to give pedagogic
talks to students on the industry.
