Prof. Ming Hu is an associate professor of operations management at the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management. His research explores various topics in revenue management and supply chain management. His research has received media coverage in Canada and internationally. He was the recipient of Innovation Research Award by Hewlett-Packard Labs in 2008-2010; Honorable Mention in the Junior Faculty Interest Group Paper Competition by the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) in 2014; and First Prize, Annual Conference Best Paper Award by Chinese Scholars Association for Management Science and Engineering in 2015. In 2016 he was the co-winner of the Martin Excellence in Research Award, which is presented annually to faculty members at the Rotman School who have achieved distinction for their research activities. Prof. Hu's most recent research has focused on operations management in the context of social buying, crowdfunding, crowdsourcing, and two-sided markets. Prof. Hu received his PhD from Columbia University.
