Malek Ben Sliman
Malek Ben Sliman graduated from with a Master of Science in Operations Research.
Prior to arriving at Columbia University, Malek left Tunisia to study in Paris at Lycée Louis Le Grand and continued onto "École Centrale Paris" where he majored in Industrial Engineering. His background is primarily in Mathematics and Engineering. He joined the MSOR program in hopes of gaining a greater understanding of the means by which quantitative tools can be employed by businesses and companies, and, more specifically how they can be utilized in industry.
Malek has been awarded an Excellence Scolarship by the French Government during his time in France. Asides from his academic activities, Malek had also been elected President of the Wine Club of Ecole Centrale Paris which organizes bi-monthly wine tastings. He also has served as the Vice-President and Co-founder of the Centrale Cricket Club.
Previously, Malek worked for the French utility company "Électricité de France"in conjunction with Ecole Centrale Paris during the academic year 2011-2012. During his time there, he prepared strategic plans to help Électricité de France anticipate the electric vehicle market. He later worked with the Supply Chain Chair of Ecole Centrale Paris to analyze the advantages of implementing RFID in the retail industry.
During his spare time, Malek enjoys playing tennis and cricket, and watching plays.
