LAWL6174 Foundations of the Regulatory State



This course takes the problem of risk to human life and health and explores the potential justifications for and contours of, legal responses to it. The course explores: justifying regulation when parties contract, doctrinal and institutional limits of the common law, the modern regulatory state and new perspectives on the regulatory and administrative state in the twenty-first century.
