Howard Teitelman is the Chief Strategy Officer for Trillium Trading LLC located in New York City. He received his BS in Engineering Management Systems in 1996 and an MS in Operations Research Department in 1998 both from Columbia University's IEOR Department. He was selected as an early inductee into Tau Beta Pi, the National Engineering Honor Society and Omega Rho, the International Operations Research Honor Society.  Howard served as a past President of Columbia’s chapter of the American Institute of Industrial Engineers.

In his role as CSO of Trillium Trading, Howard is responsible for overseeing operations in the manual and automated trading divisions. He has been instrumental in developing and implementing technology, compliance, and accounting procedures for the firm. Prior to joining Trillium, Howard worked at General Electric's Research and Development Center in Schenectady, NY and constructed a statistical model to determine default risk associated with sub-prime auto loans.

In the Columbia course Topics in Quantitative Finance: Trading and Technology in Today’s Financial Markets, Howard hopes to give students some insight into the excitement of the equities markets. Dramatic improvements in computing power and robust advancements in the telecommunications industry have sparked a revolution on Wall Street, empowering individual investors and small trading firms to assume a leading role in the innovation of the financial markets. Howard’s course in an introduction to the complex structure of the US equity markets and the role technology plays in facilitating practical trading applications.
