Cun Matthew Mu is a PhD candidate in the Department of Operations Research at Columbia University. Previously, he studied Quantitative Finance as an undergraduate at National University of Singapore.
Matthew's research interests are in low-rank tensor recovery and decomposition, from both the theoretical and algorithmic perspectives, with applications ranging from signal processing to statistical machine learning.
His Ph.D. advisors are Prof. Donald Goldfarb from the IEOR department and Prof. John Wright from the EE department. He also works closely with Prof. Daniel Hsu from the CS department. He will be joining Jet.com, a fast growing eCommerce company, as a data scientist.
