Charlie is a postdoctoral research fellow affiliated with the Center for the Management of Systemic Risk at Columbia, funded by a James S. McDonnell Postdoctoral Fellowship in Studying Complex Systems. His research interests include systemic risk in finance and in infrastructure, innovation, networks, and dynamical systems. He is currently modeling poverty traps caused by contagious disruptions in supply chains, and he is collaborating with economists on a randomized controlled trial to assess how virtual social networks enhance entrepreneurship and the creation of good business ideas in low-income countries.
