Dr. Soulaymane Kachani elected to the INFORMS Council

The IEOR Department congratulates Professor Soulaymane Kachani who was elected to the INFORMS Council by the presidents and chairs of the Societies and Sections of INFORMS. The INFORMS Council is the vehicle by which the members influence INFORMS policy and governance, and works closely with the INFORMS Board. It oversees all subdivisions of the Institute (chapters, fora, sections, societies, and student chapters). Professor Kachani is one of four representatives elected for the two-year term, January 2008 - December 2009. Candidates for the Board are former presidents or chairs of an INFORMS subdivision. Professor Kachani has served as Chair and Vice-Chair of Revenue Management & Pricing (RM&P) Section of INFORMS and continues to serve on its Board. The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) is the largest professional society in the world for the field of operations research (OR).
