The IEOR Department is the home to two undergraduate programs: Industrial Engineering and Operations Research. Students majoring in Operations Research can select one of two optional concentrations: Engineering Management Systems and Financial Engineering. In addition to a CSA advisor, each IEOR student is assigned to a Departmental advisor to guide the student through the major curriculum. Your CSA and Departmental advisors are listed in your Academic Profile in Student Services Online. If your Departmental advisor is not listed, please email us for more information.
The main contacts for undergraduate studies are:
Changes to the Program Plan must be approved by the Departmental advisor. In particular, dropping a course that is required by your major must be approved by your Departmental advisor or one of the main Departmental contacts above (Professor Sigman, Kristen or Carmen), unless the course is being taken earlier than the program plan recommends. The Department does not guarantee that required courses can be dropped. Failure to do so may jeopardize your graduation eligibility.
The Department encourages students to meet with their Departmental advisors to discuss their degree progress during the early/regular registration periods. The Department will send students instructions on how to make an appointment with your advisor via email prior to early registration. The Departmental advisor will review your degree progress and provide guidance on course selection.
Prior to meeting with your advisor, the Department asks the student to fill out a Program Plan (see below) and email it to email@example.com and bring a printed copy to your advising session.
Program Plans & BSFE Application:
Students are encouraged to see their Departmental advisor. Students minoring in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research may see Ms. Carmen Ng, Dr. Jenny Mak, or Professor Sigman (or email).
